What I Packed for Europe: My Rome + Mediterranean Cruise Clothing Checklist

Packing for a European trip can be tricky, especially when you’re heading to both a major city like Rome and a sunny Mediterranean cruise. I’m breaking down exactly what I packed (and wore!) so you can use it as a guide for your own trips.

Whether you’re strolling in Rome or on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, packing the right clothes makes all the difference. I’m on a European trip right now that includes both, and I’m sharing my full packing list, including outfits that worked for walking tours, dinners, beach days, and everything in between. If you’re heading to Europe this summer, let this be your go-to clothing checklist for both style and comfort.

I shared Part 1 of my packing list with travel essentials RIGHT HERE!

Europe Packing Checklist

Family Photo Dress. I packed this dress to wear for family pictures in Rome AND to wear for a dinner on the crusie. It’s truly the perfect, classic, little white dress!

Crochet Skirt. This skirt has been on repeat since I bought it for my Santa Fe trip last month. It’s the perfect piece to dress down with a t-shirt and sandals for an easy cruise ship dinner!

Lantern Hat. I am so excited to wear this around the pool and our sunny stops in Greece and Italy. It’s super chic, provides a ton of sun coverage and is one of those pieces I’ll wear for years to come. See me wear it HERE.

Linen pants. I’ve tried a lot of linen pants over the years, and while I like many, these are my favorite that I’ve tried that are 100% linen. I’ll absolutely be bringing these with me to Europe in the undyed color because they’re so lightweight, breathable, chic, and versatile. I wear a size XS in the regular length. You can see me wearing them HERE.

Linen Dress. A lot of linen dresses are long and not super breathable, but this one is the perfect knee-length. It kept me cool and polished for a day exploring in Rome! See it on HERE.

Gauzy Maxi Skirt. I threw this in my travel bag to throw on right when we got to Rome, and it held up great for being squished in a backpack! It’s a very light, breezy fabric and could withstand the wrinkles. You can see me where it HERE.

Mini White Dress. I wore this a beach coverup in Mykonos, and it was fabulous!

Gauzy Button Up. I wore this with the skirt above, and it was breezy and perfect. I also threw it in my travel bag, and because it’s gauze, it wrinkled up just fine and was still wearable. You can see me where it HERE.

Crossbody bag with a zipperI bought this bag a few months ago and I’m shocked at how much I’ve worn it! It has become my go-to for everyday wear, and it’s perfect for a trip to Europe because it holds plenty without being too huge, and it zips up so it stays safer. You can wear it as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag.

Comfortable sneakers. I’ve worn the same white sneakers for almost ten years and I was ready for something new and fresh, so I picked up these gum sole white sneakers and instantly fell in love with them. They’re supportive, super comfy right out of the box, and are the kind of sleek sneaker you can pair with skirts, dresses, pants, and more.

Printed Pants. I feel like matching silk sets are all the rage right now, I’m not quite read to jump into the full set, but these seem like the perfect step into the set, and I’ll be able to wear them as a cover-up, to dinner, and much more!

Crocheted Matching Set Cover-Up.  This set is so fun for a pool-side coverup. I’d feel great throwing this on after the pool to grab lunch or do any activity. See me wearing it HERE.

Classic White One-Piece. There is nothing more timeless or classy than a white one-piece. Mine I’ve packed is old and no longer available, but this is a super similar option!

Boden Red One-Piece. Boden makes the BEST swimsuits, and this is for sure my favorite of the year so far. The center strap is removable too, so it can easily become strapless!

Crochet Cover-Up Dress. I grabbed this to pair with the red swimsuit for a chic, monochromatic look!

Knit Dress. I grabbed this dress for easy, casual dinners and lunches on the cruise ship. I think this blue is so gorgeous and just screams summer in Europe.

Basic Muscle T-Shirt. This has been the perfect piece to wear with a skirt for a casual dinner, and with shorts for a day of sightseeing!

Printed Silk Scarf. I packed my Granny’s silk scarf to Europe and love having a piece of her with me. I also packed these fun printed ones to switch up outfits for dinner and nights out!

Bold Midi Skirt. I wore this on the ship send-off day, and will be wearing it again to explore a few cities. It’s bold, bright and fun and can be paired with so much!

Ruffle Sleeve Blouse. I wanted to pack this to pair with shorts for a very casual dinner, or skirts for something a little extra. It’s a great versatile top that can be worn so many ways this trip.

Wrap Mini Skirt. I’ll be pairing this with a basic swimsuit on our Italy boat day, isn’t it so perfect?

AGolde Shorts. These are without a doubt, the best denim shorts I own. They are pricey, but I’ve been wearing them for a few years and will continue to wear them for years to come. The length is perfect for a swim coverup.

Red Stretchy Dress. I’m planning on wearing this dress while exploring one of the stops on our cruise, and rewearing it for dinner. It’s stretchy, flattering and a perfect pop of color.

Polarized Sunglasses. I love the look of sunglasses and I love not squinting, but anything that’s not polarized feels so dim for my eyes. I found this inexpensive pair of darling green polarized sunglasses and these will absolutely be coming with me. I love them!

Chic waterproof sandal. These sandals keep selling out, and for good reason because they’re SO comfortable, super chic, and a great beach or pool or everyday sandal. I bought these last week and I’m absolutely bringing these to Europe with me for all the outfits.

Chunky Rings HERE and HERE. I’m very into bold, fun rings right now. These are super affordable and have a fun beach theme, which is perfect for the cruise!

Stay tuned cause I’m figuring out my packing list right now, and will soon share  my entire packing list of everything I’m bringing to Europe.
