Today Janssen wrote a post about how nice it is to not waste your Saturdays. I totally feel the same way, that if you sleep in til eleven o’clock, half the day is already gone and, to me, feels pretty much wasted.
Last Sunday at church I was talking to my friend and realized we hadn’t hung out in a while. We ended up planning a picnic breakfast this morning. Since her husband had to work in the afternoon, we planned our breakfast for 9:30, which at the time seemed SO early, but when I woke up at 8:30 this morning I was so excited to have something to look forward to, rather than frosted mini wheats.
We had a wonderful picnic – they brought fresh homemade cinnamon rolls (so delicious!) and we brought some grapes and some juice. I’ve been trying to convince Philip to have a picnic for the last few weeks, but it’s been too cold so we haven’t. But it was worth the wait…it was a perfect sunny morning. We hung out at the park and played with the frisbee and the football until it got too hot to stay, but it was a great start to a great weekend.
The rest of the day was very productive – A trip to Sam’s club (with a lunch of samples), a self-done manicure and pedicure, a trip to the grocery store, some ironing, and then to finish it off we had a great evening at Grannie and Grandad’s house for dinner.
Happy Saturday!
sounds like a great weekend! Can’t wait to see you for your birthday!
